MOTHER'S DAY

Well, I've been home with my little peanut two weeks now!...it makes for a great Mother's Day! It still sounds weird saying that...I still can't believe I'm a Mom.
I got these beautiful flowers from my mom for Mother's Day.

My sister Cathy gave me this beautiful picture and card. The chinese characters say "Dream Come True" Isn't that just perfect for Mother's Day! I know exactly where I'm going to hang it.

BUT.....I must confess....the greatest gift for Mother's Day is waking up to this face everyday and it being the last thing I see everynight before going to bed....who could ask for anything more?

Ava has learned to close her eyes once she sees the light on the camera for the flash....so we just have to take another one.

"New fashion statement"...wanted all her clips in her hair!!

I could stand and watch her sleep for hours!

How couldn't you love that face??

She and Ava had a great time chasing each other and climbing the stairs together; Olivia had just started to walk the day before and was keen to practice. Ava was invited up to Olivia's home for a play date, so mommy and Deb will have to set a date.

AVA MEETING AUNTIE CATHY

My sister Cathy came home for a few days as my mom was having surgery and also to meet Ava in person.

VISITING NANNY IN THE HOSPITAL

After getting home from Sick Kids Hospital we had to stop by and visit Nanny in the hospital...as she was having "Ava" withdrawal!!

AVA'S FIRST VISIT TO SICK KID'S HOSPITAL!

Ava had her first visit to Sick Kid's Hospital today.
We went for our first consult with the plastic surgeon who is going to repair her cleft lip and palate. My good friend Mary accompanied us to show us the ropes as her middle daughter Nicole, my god daughter, was also born with a cleft palate and has already gone through the repair process. Thanks Mary for coming with us and making the process much less stressful.
The surgeon was behind and we had to wait 2 and 1/2 hours before getting into our appointment. This clown was in the waiting room entertaining the kids. He let each child have their turn trying to catch the bubbles with the net. There was no way Ava was going to pass up her turn. It sure helped keep her entertained during the long wait.

When we did finally get into the examination room, we were placed in the "ladybug" examination room! Can you believe it, of all the rooms we get the ladybug one...it must be a sign that good luck will flow over to Ava's surgery!!

AVA LOVES HER BATH!!!

When I undress Ava for her bath she loves to run around naked. Knowing how many layers of clothing the children are dressed in in China she has probably never had the opportunity to run around undressed. She likes to pat her belly and laugh at the feel of it. She has loved her bath from the day I got her. She usually puts up a fuss when it's time to get out of the tub, not in it. I started brushing her teeth once we got home from China...and she actually seems to like it. Now, in order to get her out of the tub without a crying fit I just show her her toothbrush and she's quite willing to get out of the tub.
