We traveled 1.5hrs to the west of Hohhot to visit
Ava's finding spot. She was found under the overpass
at the entrance to the railway station.

station. Seeing this spot brought a flood of emotions;
a saddness for Ava's birth mother having to leave her
here knowing that someone would find her on their way
to the train but also a feeling of thankfulness to her birth
mother because if she hadn't left her there we would never
have found each other.

I cannot get over,how Ava seems to be so at home with you Liz and you with her.It must have been quite emotional to go back to where Ava was found.

Very humble beginning to be sure, but I'm sure Ava's birth mom would be so pleased to see you with her Liz and know that the life she will lead with you with be very full and happy. Ava already looks very confident. Congratulations, mom, she must trust you!

I can't imagine what it must have felt like to go to Ava's finding spot. How wonderful for Ava that you will be able to tell her all about it when she grows up. Are we going to have to switch from East Side Mario's to McDonalds now?

I'm so glad that you have documented the site where Ava was found and were actually physically there. I hope that word got out throughout the town that a wonderful woman came to that spot with a Chinese baby girl in hand and that they both looked beautiful and tremendously happy. I hope her birthmother was able to hear that.

Ahhh....I know it would've been so hard to visit Ava's finding spot, but you will never regret it!! I hope I can do the same when I'm in China!!
