DAY TWO IN HOHHOT,(UPDATED WITH COMMENTARY)

Well we survived our first and second nights! Ava is such a good girl...she crashed at 6pm the first night as she had missed her afternoon nap. She slept 11hours with two brief periods of crying during the night. She still has a bottle of milk in am and before bed but otherwise eats whatever we eat...and she's a good eater despite her size... 12 month cloths are still a little big on her.
The first day after getting Ava we had to ourselves other than an appt at the police station to get her picture for her passport...so the rest of the day we shopped and walked the streets of Hohhot...boy did we get the stares!!!! You'd think they never saw foreigners before. Ava even had her first taste of McDonalds...loved the fries and the buns!
The next night she was a little fussy at bedtime and I thought I was in for a rough night but after crying for about 5 minutes she settled and slept from 8pm until 7am without waking.
She liked her bath but not getting her hair washed! She's quite happy and content when in the room with us but gets a quite upset when we first go down to the restaurant or get on the shuttle bus...not sure if she thinks we are taking her back to the orphanage or what but she doesn't like it and has no trouble letting us know!
She has such an infectious laugh and is smart as a whip...I can't wait for you all to meet her.

Hi Liz & Co. It's nice to see you are seeing the city, Ava looks as though she likes that stroller! Tell us, does Ava have a hair bow to match every outfit? I'm betting that Liz IS that organised...haha Have fun, Theresa
