AVA'S SURGERY GOES WELL....DIDN'T SLOW HER DOWN A BIT!!

Last couple of pictures of Ava before her surgery...taken that morning just before we left for Toronto.

Ava in Recovery Room

Ava now in her room for the night

During the Operative night

First morning post op

I can't believe the difference!(I kinda miss that ear to ear grin!)

First post operative day...looking a little stoned!

Dressed and ready to go home the afternoon of day after surgery. She definately does not like medical staff...was hysterical if the nurses or doctors got within 5 feet of her...she was Ok if they assessed her from the door...but if they entered the room....meltdown! She had an O2 sat monitor on so it monitored her oxygen saturation and her pulse and I took her BP and Temp.
I guess she was a bit of a handful in Recovery Room also...upon waking immediately pulled out her IV and when they were able to get another one in(in her foot this time....as far away from her hands as you can get!) they needed to resedate her as she was way too awake and fighting them with everything she had. Working in Recovery Room, I know how wild children can wake from an anesthetic...we often need four people to hold a 12-24 month old on a stretcher....it's like they have super human strenght!....the good thing is they never remember any of their Recovery Room experience....the drugs have an amnesic effect.

Slept the whole way home...finally able to relax knowing no medical staff will be entering her room.

Home only an hour and back playing already.

JULY 1ST...CELEBRATING AVA'S BAPTISM AND HER FIRST CANADA DAY!

I had Ava baptized July 1st at a Church near the cottage in Chapeau, Quebec as most of my exteded family are there and I wanted them to be part of the celebration.

Ava all dressed and ready to leave for the church. The dress she's wearing and actually the shoes also were purchased in China. As soon as I saw the dress I knew I wante her to wear it for her baptism.

Mama and Ava, dressed and ready to go.

Couldn't stop at just one pic of my little peanut, so enjoy!

Checking out the crucifix necklace my brother Dave (her godfather) gave her for her Baptism.

PRAYERS FOR AVA!

Ava is scheduled to have her first surgery tomorrow at Sick Kid's in Toronto to repair her lip.
I'm asking anyone out there who has time, to say a little prayer that everything goes well and that we both get through the next three weeks that she has to be in arm splints(to keep her hands away from her mouth). I'll post an update as soon as I can.
