AVA'S FIRST VISIT TO SICK KID'S HOSPITAL!

Ava had her first visit to Sick Kid's Hospital today.
We went for our first consult with the plastic surgeon who is going to repair her cleft lip and palate. My good friend Mary accompanied us to show us the ropes as her middle daughter Nicole, my god daughter, was also born with a cleft palate and has already gone through the repair process. Thanks Mary for coming with us and making the process much less stressful.
The surgeon was behind and we had to wait 2 and 1/2 hours before getting into our appointment. This clown was in the waiting room entertaining the kids. He let each child have their turn trying to catch the bubbles with the net. There was no way Ava was going to pass up her turn. It sure helped keep her entertained during the long wait.

When we did finally get into the examination room, we were placed in the "ladybug" examination room! Can you believe it, of all the rooms we get the ladybug one...it must be a sign that good luck will flow over to Ava's surgery!!

Hi Liz!
I really appreciate this post about Ava's first visit to Sick Kids...Evan will be visiting the hospital soon after he arrives home, as his cl/cp have not been repaired either...Since I've never been to Sick Kids, its great to see some pics.
Also, I must say that Ava sure does look like a happy girl! She looks so much at ease and so content with her new life...so great to see :)

We've (fortunately) never had to visit Sick Kid's. Looks like a wonderful facility. It's nice to know Ava is in such good hands!

Glad Ava's first visit went so well! Sick Kids is the best! Who would think to have a clown on hand blowing bubbles to keep the kids entertained? I am so thankful that we have this amazing facitity so close.

Praying all goes well as you begin to prepare for Ava's CL/CP repair.

Looking forward to seeing you and meeting Miss A tomorrow!
